Hachioji CampusReporting session held for students dispatched Faculty of Economics Overseas Training Program

On July 3, 2024 (Wed.), a debriefing session for Faculty of Economics Overseas Study Program students was held at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus. This debriefing session was held as an opportunity for senior students of the 1st year educational subject "Life Design Seminar I" class taught by Hiroaki Ito of Teikyo University Faculty of Economics Department of International Economy Senior Assistant Professor to present their own experiences of studying abroad as dispatched students of the Faculty of Economics Overseas Study Program for long-term (about 6 months) and short-term (2 weeks) study abroad programs.

Our faculty has a unique overseas training program available to students of Department of Economics and Department of International Economy, which allows students to study abroad in four Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, where they can learn English as a communication tool in a cross-cultural environment. Five upperclassmen who took advantage of this program gave a presentation about their life abroad and a Q&A session in small groups, talking about the food and differences from Japanese culture in their study abroad destinations, mistakes they made, local transportation, and more. The first-year students who took the course were able to hear about the different attractions of life abroad in each country and raise their awareness of studying abroad.
