Co-reading Supporters held a Co-reading Festival at the Seisha Festival on the HachiojiHachioji Campus

At the university festival "Seishasai" held at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th, 2025, the student group Co-Reading Supporters held a Co-Reading Festa, which included three events: a Bibliobattle, a Co-Reading Used Book Fair, and a Book Rally.

Bibliobattle is a new style of book review competition that incorporates a game-like feel. Presenters bring their recommended books and present their appeal within a time limit. The audience votes to determine the book they most want to read. On the first day, the "National University Bibliobattle 2025 Kanto C Block Showdown" took place, with the winner earning a spot in the national finals to be held in Nagasaki Prefecture on Sunday, November 23rd. Four students from Tokai University, Teikyo University, Rissho University, and Chiba University participated and presented their recommended books. From our university, Chirei Ohashi (4th year, Faculty of Law) of Kyodo Supporters participated, presenting her book "The Cocoon Season Begins," highlighting its appeal as a story that resonates with us all, especially those experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic. Among Butler's excellent book reviews, which had previously won preliminary rounds, Yuki Usazawa of Rissho University, who introduced "Earthlings," advanced to the national finals as a result of audience votes. Usazawa had also tried Bibliobattle when he was a high school student, and used that experience as motivation to express his joy at winning the competition.
On the second day, a Manga Bibliographic Battle was held, where the four Co-Reading Supporters presented their recommended manga books. Each participant was given five minutes to give their own presentation, and Yamazaki Ryuon (2nd year, Faculty of Liberal Arts) emerged victorious with his introduction of "Blue Period."
In addition, we held a unique shared reading secondhand book market, with all the shared reading supporters acting as store owners and selling selected books according to a theme with comment cards attached, and a "comment market" where the book titles were hidden and participants were asked to choose the books they wanted to read by looking only at the recommended comments. We also held a "book rally" where participants were challenged with book-related missions while touring the Media Library Center and received prizes when they completed them all, providing a shared reading experience that allowed them to communicate with students through books.

Co-reading supporters

This is an activity where students who have a passion for Teikyo University Media Library Center (MELIC), books, or wanting to run an event connect people with books and convey the new appeal of reading.

Co-Reading Library

This activity has been implemented since 2012 as a university-wide reading promotion project aimed at improving academic ability and acquiring information editing skills.
