[GJS Symposium] Tradition x Internationalization - Connecting the World and Interacting with Imagination
In modern times, traditional culture is no longer a "legacy of the past," but a "present, ongoing" culture that is being reinterpreted and recreated in an international context. Through a variety of genres, including Noh and Kyogen, Japanese film, and manga, this symposium will explore the intersection of pop culture and classical performing arts, domestic and international, and creation and inheritance. Through presentations by researchers and practitioners active both in Japan and overseas, we will consider the possibilities and future of traditional performing arts from multiple perspectives.
